Man arrested in suspected arson in Maple Leaf neighborhood

A man suspected of setting fire to a house in the 8800 block of Second Avenue Northeast Sunday morning was arrested after he was released from the hospital where he was treated for injuries police say he sustained in the fire.

Firefighters at the scene in Seattle’s Maple Leaf neighborhood told police that the fire was deliberately set and that a burn victim had been taken to Harborview Medical Center ¬†for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, whom police did not name, was arrested and booked into King County Jail.

The fire is under investigation by the arson/bomb squad.
