Man in critical condition after being struck in hit-and-run incident

A 54-year-old Seattle man was struck and injured by a hit and run driver in White Center this morning.

The man was crossing Southwest Roxbury Street at 16th Avenue Southwest in a crosswalk when he was hit at 1:43 a.m., said King County sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Katie Larson. The man was hit by a dark sedan that was turning from 16th Avenue Southwest onto Southwest Roxbury Street.

The sedan did not stop, Larson said. The only description investigators have is that the vehicle is a dark colored sedan with a driver’s side mirror that was broken in the collision.

The man who was struck suffered critical injuries and is in Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Anyone with information about the incident is is asked to call 911.
