Morning Memo/Saturday: A messier Mercer Street … Talk to the mayor … Shooting overnight
Weather: Today, mostly cloudy with highs in the mid-40s. Temperatures down around freezing tonight and little warmer Sunday, with a high around 47. The details.
Traffic: In Seattle, as we have been saying this week, the Mercer Mess is going to get messier. I-5 on-ramps at Mercer are closed until about 7 p.m. Sunday. Also, Fairview Avenue North is closed between Republican and Valley streets until about 7 p.m. Sunday. On Monday, Mercer Street drivers heading toward I-5 will shift onto a new roadway (the westbound lanes of the future two-way Mercer Street). For a broader look at traffic in the area, the map and cams.
Seattle City Hall is hosting an open house today. Tour the building, attend a Q & A with Mayor Mike McGinn or workshops on the legislative process and interpreting credit reports. Staff from many departments will be there to provide information on city programs. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at City Hall, 600 Fourth Ave.
There was shooting overnight in South Lake Union that left three people injured. Read our story here.
