Red dye may mark Woodinville credit-union robber

Photo of suspected robber provided by King County Sheriff's Office

King County sheriff deputies hope an exploding red dye pack may help them track down a man who robbed a credit union at gunpoint in Woodinville on Thursday.

The sheriff’s office is asking the public’s help in finding the man who robbed the Prevail Credit Union branch shortly before 4 p.m.

Some of the clothing he wore in the robbery may be stained bright red from a dye pack which a witness saw explode in the suspect’s hands.

Deputies said the robber entered the credit union, jumped the counter, and walked the two tellers to the back vault.

After getting cash and emptying teller drawers, he jumped back over the counter and fled.  Some of the money and other evidence was found behind a business just west of the credit union branch.

The suspect is described as a white male of about  50,  6 feet tall, 220 pounds with blue eyes. He was wearing a gray baseball cap with a dark shirt covering his face.

Investigators provided a photo of the suspect and ask that anyone with information call the King County Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311.
