Seattle police arrest suspect in year-old home-invasion robbery

There is not points to locate on the map

Seattle police today arrested a suspect in a year-old home-invasion robbery in North Seattle.

The suspect was arrested at his home in the 2000 block of Northeast 96th Street, where detectives served a search warrant earlier today. He has been booked into the King County Jail for investigation of robbery.

According to police, the robbery occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 7, 2011, at a home across the street from the suspect’s home.

The victim told police she was sleeping in her bedroom when she was awakened by a loud noise. She turned on the bedroom light and was confronted by a man standing at her bedside. The man was armed with a wooden mallet and his face was covered with a ski mask. He demanded the woman’s debit card, police said.

The intruder bound the woman’s hands and feet with duct tape and demannded the PIN for her debit card. After obtaining the PIN, the man fled.

During the subsequent investigation detectives briefly interviewed the suspect, who lives across the street from the victim. At the time, he wasn’t considered a suspect, police said.

A police news release did not indicate what led police to the suspect, but fingerprints were lifted from the victim’s home.
