Snoqualmie, Stevens passes closed for avalanche control

Both Snoqualmie and Stevens Passes are closed for avalanche control, according to the state’s Department of Transportation.

The agency said on its website that for Snoqualmie Pass, “due to the weather related nature of this closure an estimate end time is not known.”

I-90 westbound is closed at milepost 61, near Price Creek, and I-90 eastbound remains closed at milepost 34, near North Bend.

As for Stevens Pass, a natural snow slide has closed the pass between milepost 58 and milepost 64.5. Avalanche control work is planned from 9-11 tonight.
