Walmart to open another Bellevue store in Factoria Mall

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. announced today it plans to open a 76,000-square-foot store in Bellevue’s Factoria Mall.

Last week, the company publicly announced a new, 64,000-square-foot grocery location at Bellevue’s Kelsey Creek Center, prompting some protest from local union leaders and others at odds with what they call the retailer’s bad business practices.

The locations are about four miles from each other. Both are being built in vacant stores, the latest on the site of a former Mervyn’s. It’s slated to open in the first half of 2013, according to a spokesman for the company.
