2 Seattle shooting victims die from wounds

The two men shot last night outside a Seattle restaurant have died at Harborview Medical Center, police said today. The men were 41 and 33. Their names have not been released.

The shooting occurred about 8 p.m. in the parking lot of Maya’s Mexican Restaurant, 9447 Rainier Ave. S. , said Mark Jamieson, a spokesman for the Seattle Police Department.

Police are not sure how many shooters were involved or if the incident was gang-related.

There have been nine homicides in Seattle this year, police said. Last year at this time, police said, there were three homicides in the city. Seattle had 21 homicides in all of 2011.

In 2010, there were 19 homicides, a 55-year low.

Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn on Tuesday addressed the recent rash of gun violence.
