Man rescued after jumping into Elliott Bay

A man who jumped into Elliott Bay near Seattle’s cruise terminal pier this afternoon was rescued and apparently uninjured, according to the Seattle Fire Department.

At 1:10 p.m., Seattle firefighters and paramedics were sent to the Bell Harbor Marina after the man in his 30s jumped into the water, according to Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore. A couple of workers, who were in a small boat, threw the man a life ring. The workers were able to pull him into the boat, Moore said.

Firefighters pulled the man from the boat and onto dry land. The man was wet and cold but showed no signs of injuries, Moore said.

Paramedics took the man to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition, he said.
