Man with gun arrested on The Ave this morning

There is not points to locate on the map

A 19-year-old man was arrested this morning after police say he was walking around with a handgun on “The Ave” in Seattle’s University District.

Police were called to the 4700 block of University Way Northeast just before 2 a.m. for several 911 calls reporting a man “brandishing a handgun after a shoving match on the sidewalk outside a restaurant,” Seattle police spokesman Mark Jamieson wrote in a news release.

Officers located the man and found a loaded .38 semi-automatic handgun in his jacket pocket, Jamieson said.  A records check indicated that the gun had been stolen, police said.

The man was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of Violation of Uniform Firearms  Act (VUFA) and investigation of Possessing a Stolen Firearm.  There were no reported injuries.
