Morning Memo/Thursday: Trooper killed … Gas prices poll … Sun today

Weather: Hey, it was dry this morning and could be partly sunny this afternoon. There’s a 50 percent chance of rain tomorrow, but then partly sunny. Ditto for Saturday.  Cloudy Sunday and it’s going to get cold, as in 34 degrees. Brrr… The National Weather Service forecast.

Traffic: The map & cams.

Trooper shot and killed: Big story of the m0rning is the state trooper killed near Gorst. We’ll bring you all we can as fast as we get it.

Josh Powell: Powell’s in-laws are heading to Olympia today to talk about changes in the way the state handles child protection. Powell killed his young boys and himself in a fire earlier this month when they were dropped off at a home for a visitation. The in-laws, the Cox family, were taking care of the boys.

Driving could get more expensive: For a variety of reasons, the price of a gallon of gasoline could rise to $4 or more. Will you change your driving routines if it does? Take the poll.
