Police: No signs of foul play in death of man found in Elliott Bay

There are no signs of foul play in the death of a man found floating in Elliott Bay early Monday morning, and police aren’t treating his death as suspicious,  said a spokesman for the Seattle Police Department.

The body was found floating face-down Monday morning at 6 a.m. near Pier 57.  Seattle police and fire departments were dispatched to the 1300 block of Alaskan Way and removed the body from the bay, said Det. Jeff Kappel, a spokesman for Seattle police.

The body was recovered in freezing temperatures and the water was very cold, Kappel said. The King County Medical Examiner has yet to identify the man who died.
