Seattle area could see snow flurries tonight

A wintry mix will fall in the Seattle area and around Puget Sound this evening, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service said Tuesday afternoon.

Areas in the region above 500 feet could see up to an inch of snow. All areas below that could see some snow, but no accumulation, said meteorologist Dennis D’Amico.

Elsewhere, the Weather Service has already seen reports of snow today, including some east of Aberdeen and in the Hood Canal area, D’Amico said.

The wintry mix, which below 500 feet will consist mostly of cold rain, will last overnight.  There’s a chance of rain showers in the Seattle area Wednesday morning.
