UPDATE: Suspect arrested in Woodland Park slaying

UPDATE AT 4:01 P.M.: During a bail hearing this afternoon a judge found probable cause to hold the suspect without bail. The deadline for filing charges is Friday.

ORIGINAL POST: Seattle Police have arrested a convicted felon for investigation of murder in connection with the slaying of a man in Woodland Park on Feb. 20.

Police were called to the park near the 6000 block of Aurora Avenue North at 5:15 p.m. for a report of gunfire. Officers found a wounded man in the parking lot.

The victim, identified as 31-year-old Precious Reed, was involved in some type of marijuana sale when he was shot, authorities said. He later died at Harborview Medical Center.

Police have not identified the 33-year-old man arrested. He was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of homicide just after 3 p.m. yesterday.

He was being supervised by the state Department of Corrections’ North Seattle office for a first-degree robbery and drug possession convictions.

Reed is among nine people killed in the first two months of the year in shootings in Seattle.
