Body pulled from water off West Seattle this morning

Seattle firefighters were called to the 3800 block of Beach Drive Southwest just before 7:30 a.m. for a report of a body in the water, according to fire department spokesman Kyle Moore.

Fire crews brought the body to shore and Seattle police have taken over the investigation. A police spokeswoman said that the victim, who was floating about 100 feet offshore,  is a woman between the ages of 30 and 50.

Seattle police homicide detectives are investigating .
