Man, 20, accused of coercing middle-school girls to send nude photos

Seattle Police have arrested a 20-year-old man who allegedly posed online as a 15-year-old girl and, somehow, coerced a half-dozen middle-school girls into sending him nude photographs.

The Level 2 sex offender was arrested on March 7 following an investigation that began after the mother of one of the girls called law enforcement, according to the Seattle police.

Police said the man contacted his victims on Facebook and through text messages. He allegedly told several victims that he had a family member in law enforcement who would arrest the girls if they did not send him nude photos.

The man has been booked into King County Jail for investigation of communication with a minor for immoral purposes and sexual exploitation of a child.

SPD Capt. James Koutsky said the incident could be useful in encouraging parents to talk with their children about safety on online social-networking sites.

“The key thing for parents is to have some understanding of how social networks work so that kids feel comfortable talking to their parents about how they’re communicating online,” Koutsky said.
