Missing Edmonds woman found safe in Seattle

A 59-year-old Edmonds woman who had been missing since Monday night was found safe Tuesday night at about 7:30 p.m. in Golden Gardens Park in Seattle, according to Edmonds police.

Nancy Brancheau was found by a family freind, one of dozens of people who had been searching for her all day. Brancheau suffers from dementia and had been missing since 10 p.m. Monday, said a news release from Sgt. Mike Blackburn.

In addition to civilian volunteers, those participating in the search included Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue, the Alzheimer’s Association Safe Return Program, K-9 search teams and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office SnoHawk 1 helicopter police.
