Romney supporter says he’ll sway “the undecided middle ground”

Mill Creek Elementary was the site of 39 precincts, and by 10 a.m. more than 200 voters had jammed the school’s cafeteria.

There were so many people that the stage was used for the overflow.

“This is an amazing turnout,” said GOP organizer Cary Evans, attributing the high turnout to the undecided nature of the GOP presidential race.

Tom Mansfield, a Romney supporter, greeted caucus-goers outside the school as they arrived. Mansfield said he thinks Romney “can pull the swing group, the undecided middle ground.”

Mansfield, 28, a high-risk insurance broker, got involved two days ago when a friend working on the Romney campaign in Boston asked for his help.

He said he believed it will take a businessman to pull the economy around.
