Tagger makes arrest easy for Seattle police

A suspected tagger was caught black, er, red-handed this morning after Seattle police spotted fresh graffiti in the Central District.

At about  2:30 a.m., officers spotted fresh sprayed-painted graffiti promoting an upcoming political event on the wall of a shopping complex at 23rd Avenue and South Jackson Street.

Officers stopped a 26-year-old man nearby and saw that he had a can of spray paint tucked inside his jacket. The man also smelled of paint and had black paint on his palms.

Officers arrested the man and searched his backpack, which contained homemade paste, superglue and more paint.

Police booked the man into the King County Jail for investigation of property destruction.
