Transit officer stabbed at Wallingford bus shelter

There is not points to locate on the map

UPDATE: The sergeant has been released from the hospital and “is doing fine,” said Cindi West, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office.

A King County sheriff’s sergeant was stabbed this morning in the shoulder and hand at a bus shelter in Wallingford, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The injuries appear to be non-life-threatening, said Seattle police spokeswoman Renee Witt.

“He was contacting a sleeper and was stabbed. The sergeant was able to hold his composure and hold him at gunpoint until other officers arrived,” Witt said.

A suspect was arrested.

Sheriff’s deputies work as Metro Transit police.

According to the Seattle Fire Department’s 911 log, the stabbing happened at 10:46 a.m. at North 45th Street and Burke Avenue North.

Initial reports indicated the stabbing had occurred on a bus, but police later amended the information.
