Unclear if suspect tied to other North Seattle burglaries

Police confirm they have arrested a man in connection with a residential burglary in North Seattle, but it’s unclear whether he’s also a suspect in a string of similar break-ins in the area.

Police say the 21-year-old broke into the victim’s car and stole an electronic garage-door opener on Tuesday night. The man then returned to the victim’s North Seattle home Wednesday afternoon and used the opener to enter the garage. He then tried to force his way inside the home, police said.

The homeowner, who was home, yelled at the suspect, who fled.

Detectives arrested the man outside the home and booked him into the King County Jail for investigation of burglary.

The police account did not give the location of the arrest, nor does it say whether the suspect may be connected to additional break-ins. The police account says police continue to investigate the burglaries in North Seattle.

On Wednesday, following the arrest of a burglary suspect in Shoreline, law-enforcement sources told The Times the man was suspected of other break-ins in North Seattle.
