Bicyclist critically injured in Sodo collision

A female bicyclist was critically injured in a collision with a car just before 1 p.m. in Seattle’s Sodo neighborhood.

Police spokeswoman Renee Witt  could not provide any details of the collision between a bicyclist and a blue car at the intersection of Fourth Avenue South and Edgar Martinez Drive South. But she said the crash was serious enough that the department’s Traffic Collision Investigation squad was called out to process the scene.

Seattle Fire Department Lt. Sue Stangl said the female victim, who is believed to be in her late 20s or early 30s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center with “significant, life-threatening injuries.”
