Fircrest woman made up burglar stabbing story

The Associated Press

TACOMA — Police say a Fircrest woman who reported she had been stabbed Monday when she interrupted a burglar made up the story.

Investigators have determined the woman stabbed herself and made up the burglar story to cover up a theft from her roommate, Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer told The News Tribune¬†Thursday.

The investigation goes to the Pierce County prosecutor to decide whether to charge the woman.
