Man rescued from Mountlake Terrace apartment fire

Firefighters saved a man from a third-floor balcony during an apartment fire in Mountlake Terrace this morning.

Fire crews from Snohomish County Fire District 1 were dispatched to the Taluswood Apartments, 4101 236th St. S.W., around 7:30 a.m., said Leslie Hynes, spokeswoman for Fire District 1. When firefighters arrived, flames were coming out of the three-story apartment building, Hynes said. More than 35 firefighters were called in to battle the two-alarm blaze.

Twelve apartments were damaged in the blaze, it’s unclear how many people will be left homeless, Hynes said.

By 8:15 a.m. the fire was out. Nobody was seriously hurt, Hynes said.
