Man stabbed, tires punctured in U District confrontation

There is not points to locate on the map

A man suffered non-life-threatening injuries last night when he was stabbed during a confrontation in a parking lot in Seattle’s University District. A suspect has been arrested, according to police.

Police said the victim and a friend pulled into a restaurant parking lot in the 5200 block of  University Way Northeast around 8:45 p.m. when they were confronted by a stranger who yelled, “You almost hit me!”  The stranger approached the driver, who was still seated in the car, and slapped his face through the open window.

The angry man then pulled out a folding pocket knife and punctured all four tires of the victim’s car.

The victim, a passenger in the car, got out to confront the man and after a brief struggle, realized that he had been stabbed in the back, police said.

A short time after responding, officers located the suspect in the 5500 block of Brooklyn Avenue Northeast.  He was positively identified by witnesses and arrested, police said.

The man was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of assault and investigation of malicious mischief.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment for a stab wound, cuts to his hands and a dislocated shoulder.
