Saving parade route spots with chairs to get the third degree
The Associated Press
WENATCHEE — City officials in Wenatchee are wondering whether to regulate the practice of using chairs to save spots along the Apple Blossom Festival parade route.
For years, parade-goers have set chairs, buckets, ropes, benches or other items days or weeks in advance of the parade. The city has received complaints from business owners and others who have to navigate the mish-mash of items. Some say it’s unsightly.
The Wenatchee World reports city officials want to put together a task force to recommend whether to regulate them starting next year.
