Teenage pedestrian struck and killed on I-5
A 17-year-old female pedestrian was struck by multiple vehicles before 1 a.m. today on Interstate 5 and wound up dying from her injuries, the Washington State Patrol said.
The accident occurred in the interstate’s southbound lanes near the NE 145th Street overpass, according to a release from the state patrol.
Witnesses told investigators that the teenager was struck by a semi-truck and passenger vehicles that continued down the highway. The drivers may not have known that they hit someone, the patrol said.
The patrol is asking that anyone with information about the accident – witnesses, drivers or passengers – call Det. Ruth Medeiros at (425) 401-7719.
