Crews respond to Greenwood area after man is shot in knee

A 23-year-old man was taken to Harborview Medical Center on Sunday afternoon after being shot in the knee.

The man called to report the injury at about 3:30 p.m. A Seattle Fire Department crew treated him at the scene, in the Greenwood area, in the 8600 block of Fremont Avenue North.

The victim was alert, but uncooperative in explaining his injury, according to Seattle police. He claimed to have been shot at a gas station, but further investigation contradicted his claims, police said.
