UPDATE: Downtown quiet, plywood covers windows

This window at Bank of America in downtown Seattle remained boarded up this morning, the day after the May Day vandalism.

UPDATE: 7:40 a.m. | Downtown Seattle streets are quiet this morning as early commuters arrive for work.  Plywood covers many store windows, particularly along Sixth Avenue.

Some pedestrians along Sixth Avenue got out their cell phone cameras to record the scene of plywood covered windows.

“It seemed just like WTO, if you remember that,” said one man. “I don’t know why the cops didn’t respond sooner.  They (the protesters) were breaking windows and people were just watching and taking pictures.”
