Pedestrian hit by car near Seattle Center critically hurt

A pedestrian hit by a car near Seattle Center on Saturday evening is in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center.

The man was walking south at Fifth Avenue North and Broad Street around 6:09 p.m., according to Seattle police. He was hit by a car traveling west on Broad Street.

Officers evaluated the driver at the scene and said they found no sign of alcohol or drug impairment. The driver was released pending further investigation.
