70-year-old man tied up in Beacon Hill robbery
Seattle police are investigating an assault on a 70-year-old man who was tied up after he tried to battle two burglars in his Beacon Hill home on Friday.
The resident was in his home around 1:30 p.m. when he heard noises at the back of the home, located near 12th Avenue South and South Nevada Street, and then found two men inside, according to a report posted in the Seattle Police Department blotter.
When he tried to fight the suspects, they “pulled out a knife and overpowered the victim, bound his hands, and left him in a bedroom as they ransacked the house,” police reported.
Police said they were called after the victim’s granddaughter returned to the home about a half an hour later.
The man was treated for minor injuries, according to police.
