UPDATE: Accident on northbound 99 has been cleared

UPDATE: 5:50 p.m. | The accident has been cleared, according to a Tweet from the city of Seattle. Metro Transit bus lines 5, 16, and 358 have returned to their regular routes.

Original post: A five-car pile-up that occurred around 4:30 p.m. has closed all northbound lanes before Galer Street in North Seattle and has traffic backed up on the viaduct to south of Safeco Field, where a 7:10 p.m. Mariners game is being played tonight.

The Washington Department of Transportation says the 99 south of the West Seattle Bridge is “a mess.”

Seattle Fire Department has transported one male in his 60s to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

Metro Transit bus lines 5, 16 and 358 have been re-routed off Aurora Avenue North between Aloha Street and Halladay Street.
