Daudon to head Seattle Chamber of Commerce

Former Seattle Deputy Mayor and finance executive Maud Daudon was named president and CEO this week of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

Daudon is a former president and CEO of Seattle Northwest Securities. This spring she served on the Arena Advisory Committee, a citizen group asked by Mayor Mike McGinn to examine the proposal for a $490 million sports arena in the Sodo neighborhood. Her name also has been mentioned as a possible candidate for Seattle mayor in 2013.

From 1998 to 2001, Daudon was deputy mayor and chief of staff to Paul Schell, focused on public safety, labor issues, budget, information technology and city utilities. Before that, Daudon was the chief financial officer for the Port of Seattle.

“In Maud, we have a well-known leader who is both a visionary and an effective strategist, someone who has an extensive record of building coalitions and getting key projects to completion,” said Bob Donegan, president of Ivar’s and co-chair of the Chamber’s CEO search committee, in a statement.

Daudon succeeds Chamber CEO Phil Bussey, who is now the chief customer officer for Puget Sound Energy.
