Redmond girl, 11, target of attempted luring

Redmond police say a man attempted to lure an 11-year-old girl this morning outside her elementary school.

Police say the girl had been dropped off on the east side of 166th Avenue Northeast, near Redmond Elementary School, when she was approached from behind by a man at around 7:45 a.m.  The man grabbed the girl’s wrist, and asked if she wanted to go with him.

She declined, but the man continued to pull her. The girl resisted and screamed. The man released the girl and he ran off, police said.

The man is described as black, about 6 feet tall, with a stocky build. Police said he wore some sort of hat, a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, dirty dark blue jeans and he had a dark green leather satchel. His approximate age is unknown, police said.

Anyone with information on the man is asked to call 911.
