Missing Stanwood teen found in Bellingham; returned to father

A missing 13-year-old Stanwood girl was found in Bellingham this morning, and her mother was arrested for investigation of second-degree kidnapping, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

The girl was returned to her father.

Her mother, Trina Anderson, whose custody of the child had been revoked prior to the girl’s disappearance, was booked into jail.

Karly had last been seen on Tuesday afternoon by her grandfather when he dropped her off at home at 3 p.m. near the 19000 block of Happy Valley Rd. When her father came home around 6 p.m., she was missing.

Evidence in the house led investigators to believe that Anderson was at the residence at the time of Karly’s disappearance, the sheriff’s office said.
