Renton police seek missing developmentally disabled man

Marcel Davis, Jr.

Renton police are asking for the  public’s help in locating Marcel Davis, Jr., a 20-year-old developmentally disabled man who was last seen nearly a week ago.

Davis has the mental capacity of a 14-year-old and has had little contact with anyone outside of the group home in Spokane where he has lived for the past six years, according to police.  He has relatives in the Seattle area, and left the 2100 block of Southwest Sunset Boulevard in Renton last Wednesday with his backpack and a change of clothes.

Davis does not have a cell phone, cash, or other means of obtaining food and shelter, police said. Police say he also  does not know how to navigate the world without assistance.

Davis is a light-skinned black man, 6-feet-2 and about 220 pounds.  He has short/shaved curly light brown hair, brown eyes, and the beginnings of a beard.  He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a cream-colored coat, running shoes and was carrying a brown backpack.

Anyone who spots Davis is asked to call 911 or the Renton Police Department at 425-430-7500.
