Seattle police arrest gang member in nightclub shooting

A South Seattle gang member believed to be responsible for a nightclub shooting that seriously wounded three men was arrested Thursday night, and booked into King County jail for investigation of attempted murder, assault and drive-by shooting, according to the Seattle police.

The 23-year-old man allegedly fired more than two dozen bullets from a rifle following a brawl at the Citrus nightclub in South Lake Union in January, police said.

The brawl reportedly began when two groups flashed money and gold chains at each other inside the club. When three men from one group exited the club after the fight, the suspect was waiting in the parking lot and allegedly shot them with a rifle, police said.

The victims survived, but one had his right leg amputated after it was shattered by gunfire, police said.

Video footage from a nearby business showed the suspect and another man hiding in the bushes near the victims’ car, and cellphone records placed them at the scene, police said. Police sources also implicated them in the shooting, according to police

Police said the other suspect is in custody on an unrelated case.
