Seattle’s Sodo district may see worst traffic on busy weekend

An activity-filled weekend could provide traffic challenges around town, particularly in the Sodo area, warns the Seattle Transportation Department.

The biggest crunch could come Saturday, when the University of Washington holds its commencement ceremony at CenturyLink Field from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and the Mariners play the Los Angeles Dodgers at Safeco Field at 4:15 p.m. Four garages in the area will have parking reserved for Mainers fans.

Sunday events include an 8 a.m. run along Lake Washington, two Seattle University commencement events at Key Arena, 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., a 1 p.m. Pacific Northwest Ballet matinee at McCaw Hall and a 1:10 p.m. Mariners game.
