1 person killed, 2 badly hurt in Marysville hit and run

One man was killed and two other people were  critically injured late Saturday when they were hit by a vehicle on a Marysville street where residents had recently posted “slow down” signs.

Police say the accident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. in the 10200 block of  Shoultes Road.  One of the victims was riding a bicyle and the other two were walking.

People who live in the area say they have been worried about speeding cars.

The man who died at the scene has not been identified.  The other two victims, Marysville residents aged 20 and 21, are in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

With the help of witnesses, Marysville police found a suspect vehicle several blocks away after it crashed into a tree.

The driver, a 27-year-old Everett man, was booked into Snohomish County Jail on investigation of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and felony hit and run. A 30-year-old Marysville man who was a passenger in the car was booked on investigation of rendering criminal assistance.
