Woman thrown from car on I-90; husband arrested after fight with police

A 53-year-old man was arrested near Ellensburg after allegedly throwing his wife from their car as it sped east on I-90, according to the State Patrol.

State troopers responded to a 911 call from another motorist who saw a woman tossed from the car near I-90 mile post 70 at about 9 a.m. Sunday. The caller said the car was driving erratically after the woman was thrown out, according to a State Patrol news release.

Troopers stopped the car about 17 miles later, and took the Bothell man into custody. He then broke out the rear window of the patrol car, and allegedly assaulted a trooper as he tried to flee. The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with injuries; his condition was not known.

The woman, 51, was taken to an Ellensburg hospital with minor injuries, including bruises and contusions, said State Patrol spokeswoman Amber Moniz. She was in stable condition.
