Couple shot in Ballard overnight
A man and a woman were shot in a Ballard apartment early this morning, according to Seattle police.
Both suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to Harborview Medical Center.
A suspect was arrested later this morning.
Police were called to an apartment in the 1100 block of Northwest 54th Street about 1:30 a.m. The daughter of the woman who was shot told officers that her mother’s former boyfriend had come to the apartment, opened fire on both victims, and fled. The daughter gave police a description of the suspect and information about his vehicle.
A Seattle police officer spotted the suspect’s vehicle at Northeast 50th Street near Interstate 5 and followed him until additional police arrived. They pulled him over near Interstate 5 at Michigan Street and arrested him.
