North Beacon Hill shooting: In yet another Seattle shooting, an altercation between two men Friday ended with one of them driving away in his vehicle with his family. The 20-year-old said he and four others — including two children — were getting into their SUV when another man started shooting at them. No one was injured. Police believe the victim and the suspect know each other.
Batman showings: Seattle crowds still showed up to opening-day showings of the Batman finale, “The Dark Knight Rises,” despite the midnight-screening massacre in Aurora, Colo., that left 12 dead. Pacific Science Center’s IMAX Theater beefed up security with off-duty Seattle police officers, though other cities around the country, like New York and Los Angeles, deployed on-duty officers to provide what they call “a precaution against copycats.”
The Bite of Seattle at Seattle Center runs through Sunday, offering choice morsels from 38 restaurants and plenty of music and comedy. Just make sure you don’t fill up before you get there.
