Morning Memo / Tuesday: Woman sexually assaulted … Bobcat in prison … Microsoft antitrust probe

Weather:  If today is as nice as yesterday, we’ll take it. We’re looking at 75 to 80 degrees and sun, although the chart says light rain. We have to do something about that chart. Getting a bit cooler Wednesday through Friday, it appears, but clear skies are expected for the weekend. The National Weather Service forecast.

Traffic: The map and cams.

Redmond woman sexually assaulted: The woman was assaulted at knifepoint when a man got into her apartment through a sliding door. He got away.

Bobcat breaks into prison: It’s apparently easier to get in than to get out, for a cat at least. Prison officials say a bobcat was spotted on top of a roof at the Monroe prison. A vet was brought in about 4:30 a.m. The cat, which was tranquilized, had injured its left paw and back end. It apparently had gone through the razor-wire perimeter fence and made its way to the rooftop. It will be treated and released to the wild.

Microsoft under the EU’s gun:  AP: The EU’s executive body, the European Commission, said today it’s going to open an investigation into whether Microsoft has kept the antitrust commitments it made in 2009. If not, penalties for non-compliance would be “severe.”

Seawall legislation: We know you’re dying to know that hizzoner Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn is scheduled to sign legislation to put a measure to pay for a new seawall before votes this fall.
