Darted duck nabbed, finally: The duck that was hit by a blow dart, but got around just fine despite the dart sticking out of its neck, has been caught by Longview Parks workers, according to a story in The Daily News. The bird has eluded capture for more than a month on Lake Sacajawea near Longview. That ended yesterday when it was caught with a net and the dart was removed.
More gun laws or better enforcement?: Given that some Seattle gang members have gotten off with slaps on the wrist for illegally possessing guns, Seattle Times columnist Danny Westneat wonders whether we need new gun laws. “Maybe,” he writes. “But we definitely ought to start enforcing the ones we already have.”

Park-and-ride fees down the road? Later this year, Sound Transit is expected to consider imposing a daily fee to relieve congestion at its park-and-ride lots but will weigh that against the risk of turning away people who want to ride.
