A Redmond woman was sexually assaulted in her apartment early this morning when a man got into her apartment and held a knife to her throat.
The man got into the apartment through a sliding door which apparently was unlocked, according to Redmond police. The woman, who didn’t recognize the man, was studying at the time when the man came in, put the knife to her throat and assaulted her.
The man ran off through the apartment parking lot. Police brought in police dogs to search for him, but the man may have gotten away in a car, police said.
The assault occurred about 2:30 a.m. The apartment is located in the 8500 block of 148th Avenue Northeast.
Police were alerted to the incident by a 911 call.
The man was described as light skinned with a medium build. He was wearing a dark colored baseball hat, white t-shirt underneath a dark colored sweatshirt or jacket
Police are asking anyone with any information about the assault to call 911.
