Seven to eight shots were fired near Rainier Avenue South and South Henderson Street in Seattle around 3 p.m. today, but no one was injured, according to Seattle Police Department spokeswoman Renee Witt.
The suspect, who shot at two men, was last seen running southbound past Rainier Beach Public Library and a Jack In the Box with a handgun in his waistband, Witt said. He’s described as a black male in his late teens or early 20’s, 6′ tall, medium build, short hair, wearing a white tank top and black basketball shorts with a red or white design.
A bystander called in the incident after seeing two men run away from where the shots were fired. Police located the men around Rainier Avenue South and South Director Street and were cooperative enough to offer a suspect description, Witt said. She said officers learned enough to know that “it was not a random shooting.”
SPD’s Gang Unit is continuing to investigate the incident.
