Coast Guard rescues 4 Wash. boaters near Ilwaco

ILWACO — The Coast Guard says it rescued four recreational boaters midday Tuesday after their boat started taking on water near the mouth of the Columbia River.

The incident happened about a half mile north of the north jetty at Cape Disappointment near Ilawaco.

A 47-foot Coast Guard crew was conducting drills along the river bar when they overheard a radio call for help.
