Man attacked, pistol-whipped in North Seattle apartment

A Seattle man was pistol-whipped in his apartment early this morning in what police are calling a dispute over property.

Police said the victim was confronted around 3:30 a.m. by an armed man who entered his apartment, in the 13000 block of 15th Avenue Northeast, through an unlocked patio door. The armed man struck the victim in the head with a handgun and then punched and kicked the victim.

The scuffle continued onto the rear patio as the attacker was trying to get away, police said. The victim told police the armed man jumped into a yellow Jeep Wrangler and drove off.

Detectives said the attack does not appear to be random, but was a dispute over property.
