An 18-year-old Kent man has been charged with vehicular homicide after he allegedly struck a 56-year-old motorcyclist with is car Wednesday morning, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Justin Cordova was allegedly driving recklessly while intoxicated when he lost control of his car on Southeast 223 Drive in Kent, crossed the center line and struck an oncoming motorcycle. The motorcyclist was ejected into a nearby yard and died a short time later.
Kent Police Department investigators said the evidence pointed to Cordova from the beginning.
“This investigation became a matter of putting the pieces back together to tell the whole story,” said Kent Assistant Police Chief Pat Lowery.
Police arrested Cordova shortly after the collision. He was transferred from Kent City Corrections Center to the Regional Justice Center today, where he is being held on $100,000 bail.
