Man shot outside Burien convenience store last night

A Kent man was shot in the neck last night during a fight in a Burien convenience store parking lot.

According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the parking lot near South 160th Street and 1st Avenue South around 11:30 p.m. on a report of a fight and gunfire.

No one was there when deputies arrived, but witnesses told them that two men had been fighting in the parking lot and at some point handguns were pulled out and there was an exchange of gunfire.

A 26-year-old gunshot victim, who is believed to be connected to the fight, turned up at Highline Medical Center in Burien where he was admitted. He was later transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he is listed in serious condition, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West.

The case is under investigation.
